Telford and Wrekin Council’s Structures and Geotechnical team will be undertaking some planned non-intrusive survey works along the Wharfage and Madeley Road commencing on Sunday 4th October for 6 consecutive nights.
These works have been announced previously however this letter contains some further useful information for your consideration.
TWC are undertaking a Ground Penetrating Radar Survey (GPRS) of the road as part of our commitment to monitor the wider Gorge area, as part of the on-going work for land instability. This is a non-intrusive method which should generate little noise disturbance.
A temporary lane closure will be put in place starting on the night of 4th October for 3 nights along Madeley Road (from the mini island to approximately in line with the Golden Ball Public House followed by 3 consecutive nights along the entirety of the Wharfage. These lane closures will commence at 6pm through to 6am. This will mean that any parking bays that fall within this section will be suspended during the survey work. When a section of road is completed this will then become free for use as normal the following day.
If you are a resident that usually requires a parking bay/on street parking in these areas during this time and you are unable to find an alternative position the local car parks can be used free of charge between the hours of 5pm – 10am. Local car parks which operate this in this timescale are: Waterloo Street, Dale end and The Wharfage car park.
TWC apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you and thank you for your patience during this period.
